To be honest, I haven&#039;t really looked much into it. I just bought a decent brand with a good size on sale. I won&#039;t be using it much - just for backup as you mention. And I don&#039;t back up very often, so I didn&#039;t bother to get a very fast drive.

I will however warn you about Time Machine if you use virtualization like I mention in this post, since Time Machine does not support block-level backups.
