I’m trying to suppress my Apple hatred on this blog, but today it’s too hard… Here‘s a very well-dugg story (direct link to article) with absolutely no content – the screenshot above pretty much says it all. But on Digg, it’s still frontpage news. The story is about a beta version of Safari on the iPhone adding support for downloading images from websites… Come on – my last four phones have supported that! It is not newsworthy!
Now, the story could also have been titled “Apple lets you decide what content to put on your own device” – if that happened, that would be worthy of frontpage news…
On the other hand, I could stop complaining about Apple and remove Apple news from the main Digg page… Done!
It’s been around one month since I graduated and started working life. The transition has been both easier and harder than expected in various areas – here are some random thoughts on my experiences so far… Read the rest of this entry »
Just stumbled upon an article about such mysteries as why women’s clothes button from the left while men’s close from the right, why DVD cases are larger than CD cases and why milk comes in square cartons while sodas come in round bottles. I don’t know about the accuracy of the answers, but read it here anyways…
I just watched a morning show where the topic was various slang that had been used at various points in time in Denmark. While watching it, I was reading Digg and I unintentionally directly translated some of the expressions from the tv show from Danish to English while hearing them. Here are some of them… Read the rest of this entry »
Just wanted to post this fairly funny (true at least) video which again shows that we own the content and therefore can do what we want with it, just as described in my article.
The last day before I started my working life had to be memorable… In a geeky kind of way, of course! So I decided to try out some of the extremely cool stuff that Johnny Lee has made, more specifically the Wiimote head tracking project (check out all of his Wii projects here). Breaking some old sunglasses, adding a few IR diodes and I was set… Read the rest of this entry »
Just a quick post to let you all know that the new SDU Campus Ambassador, Martin Mærsk-Møller, has created a Sun blog! You can find it here (and I’ve put it in my Blogroll as well)…
I’ve come to love the tennis game on my current phone, the Sony Ericsson K810i (which is an excellent phone by the way). The game is creatively named Tennis Multiplay, is developed by good ol’ Sega and features beautiful 3D tennis. The gameplay is great, but the game as a whole is far from complete which led to a score that hopefully doesn’t reflect my tennis abilities… -111 points!? Read the rest of this entry »
From November 2006 to January 2008, I was the Sun Campus Ambassador (SCA) at the University of Southern Denmark. As an SCA, I primarily did presentations on Solaris, NetBeans etc. which were really fun to do. But one of the more interesting experiences were that I had the opportunity to e-mail a bit back and forth with the CEO of Sun Microsystems, Jonathan Schwartz. The fact the CEO of a 35 000 employee company took the time to e-mail me (a part-time employee not even working in a Sun office) was really impressive. Read the rest of this entry »
